Q. Who can become a member of AIMA?
A. AIMA has two categories of membership:
Professional
Individual Members (PIM)
Institutional
members (IM)
Under PIM, different grades of Individual members are enrolled as
per the qualifications for each grade (for details refer the AIMA
brochure
Under IM, Organisations in Public, Private or Joint sector in manufacturing,
services, trade, commerce, directorate, departments or other agencies
interested in training and development of management / administrative
functions are enrolled under different categories.
Q. What are the qualifications for membership?
A. Details of each grade of PIM and category of IM is given in the
brochure. However, membership for Honorary Fellowship is not sought
through application and is conferred by the AIMA Council of Management.
Individual Professionals with Management degrees / diplomas and relevant
experience generally qualify for membership. Students of Management
Schools undertaking such degrees / diplomas and Graduates from such
business schools are also eligible for membership.
Q. Can anyone without a PG degree / diploma in Management
become a member?
A. Yes, the discretion lies with AIMA to accept such applications
depending upon each case.
Q. What is the criteria for selecting the applications for
enrollment as member?

The actual evaluation is left to the Membership Committee and the
AIMA Council whose objective is to fully satisfy themselves about
the suitability of the applicants vis a vis the professional standards
of AIMA.
Q. What is the process of enrollment?
A. Avail the Application Form free of cost, which is available from
the AIMA office or download the same from the web site. Send the completed
form in duplicate with the necessary enclosures to AIMA, along with
the Demand Draft for the fee. The decision on the application shall
be informed by AIMA post evaluation.
Q. What is the response time?
A. AIMA ensures earliest action on your application and generally
response is given within a week’s time. However, applicants
can make telephonic inquiries about the status of their application

Q. What are the benefits / facilities for the members?
A. The members are entitled to suffix a Title to their name as per
the Grade of Membership, such as HFIMA , FIMA, MIMA, AMIMA, GMIMA,
SMIMA for Honorary Fellow, Fellow, Member, Associate, Graduate and
Student Individual Member of the Association respectively. This signifies
the status of the member in the fraternity of Management. Besides
this, other benefits include:

Copy of "Indian Management", a prestigious monthly journal
Subscription
to the AIMA Newsletter, a bi-monthly newsletter of AIMA
Discounts
from notified publishers, bookshops and select hotels / motels
Discount
in membership of Automobiles Association of India (AAI)
Participation
in regular events of the AIMA
Use
of the AIMA library with nominal fee
50
% discount to senior citizens above 65 years in membership fees

membership of the Local Management Association (LMA)
Q. When does the membership open?
A. Applications can be filed at any time during the year but enrollment
is done on yearly basis. Members admitted between April to September
shall have to pay full year’s subscription and those admitted
during October to March shall have to pay only half the fee. One time
entrance fee is however payable in full in any case.
Q. What is the subscription fee?
A. Following is the fee structure payable by Demand Draft favouring
"AIMA", payable at New Delhi:

Q. Can a member upgrade his membership?
A. Yes, on acquiring the qualifications for the respective Grade,
and payment of nominal transfer fee of Rs. 100 along with the difference
of subscription between the existing grade and the new grade, a member
can apply for upgradation of membership.
