Ms Rekha Sethi
is the Director General of the All India Management Association
(AIMA), the apex body for management in India. She joined AIMA on
9th June 2008.
Rekha has over 22 years of experience – over 17 years of which
she spent with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the apex
industry led and industry managed body which serves as a reference
point for the Indian and International business.
She started her career with CII on the West Europe Desk in the International
Division and moved on to handling Americas as part of her International
portfolio. She then joined the Trade Fairs Division and set up the
Overseas Exhibition cell and was responsible for conceptualizing
and establishing brand “Made in India Exhibition” in
over 12 countries through her stint. She later headed the Trade
Fairs Division and handled major exhibitions including the Auto
Expo and the Indian Engineering and Technology Show, the DefExpo
etc.
She set up the Special Events Division for CII and was responsible
for mega events in India and overseas including the India Everywhere
campaign at Davos, India@60 campaign in New York, the Partnership
Summit and the CII National Conference and Annual Session.
She is well networked with Indian Industry, diplomats and the government
and has built extensive international contacts.
An English literature graduate from St Stephens College, Delhi and
a post graduate diploma holder in Advertising and Marketing, Rekha
started her career with the Center for Development of Telematics
(C-DoT), in 1985, an organisation then engaged in developing an
indigenous telephone system in India and has also worked for UDI
– the publishers of the first yellow pages in India. |
