AIMA- R K SWAMY High Performance Brand Award

All India Management Association (AIMA) as the national apex body of management profession in the country is committed to enhancing the competence of management profession through its multifaceted activities. Every year, AIMA confers Awards on distinguished and eminent organization / personality who have made outstanding contributions.

AIMA believes that brands are business assets that need to be nurtured, managed, measured and rewarded. To recognize and celebrate the marketing success of a brand, the AIMA council decided setting up of a new award, instituted by R K SWAMY BBDO, the “AIMA- R K SWAMY High Performance Brand Award”.

The R K SWAMY Hansa Group is a leading player in marketing communication in India which puts the performance of brand ahead of other metrics. R K SWAMY BBDO the principal company in the group has come forward to support this AIMA award, in memory of its illustrious founder Sri R K SWAMY.

EQUITOR Management Consulting Pvt. Ltd. with its reputation as the pioneers of Brand valuation in India, is Knowledge Partner for this award.

This award is recognition of a brand’s performance on the ground and not for brands’ recognition, publicity, loyalty or brand equity only.
 
The award is only for brands created in India, for India and the world and has been in existence for at least three years.

The nominations for the award were called under two categories, the SME and non SME category. The brands with capital employed upto 30 crores were considered under SME category and brands with over 30 crores capital employment were considered under Regular Category.

The performances of the brands were analysed using consumer and financial data. The nominations were called from different sectors across the country. The applications were shortlisted based on conformity to qualifications criteria. The growth of brand via-a-via category growth, Return on Capital Employed and other prescribed eligibility criteria and the information was compiled in form of Dash-boards. The jury members rated each shortlisted nominee on a scale of 0-10 with “0” being the highest possible scores. The key measures were Distinctiveness, Consumer Relevance, Single mindedness, challenges the category and Consistency.

The very first Award was conferred upon State Bank of India on the occasion of inaugural session of AIMA’s Indian Marketing Congress 2010 on 8th February 2010 at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi

The Award was presented by Mr R Gopalakrishnan, Executive Director - Tata Sons Ltd. From State Bank of India, Shri S K Gagroo, General Manager (Network-I), New Delhi LHO received the award. Also present during the Award ceremony were Dr Jagdish N Sheth, Charles H. Kellstadt Chair Professor of Marketing Goizueta Business School, Emory University, Mr S K SWAMY, Past President AIMA & CMD – R K SWAMY BBDO Pvt Ltd., Mr Ramesh Thomas, Chairman - EQUITOR Consulting.

The second AIMA - RK Swamy High Performance Brand Award was conferred upon LIC during AIMA's World Marketing Congress on 4-5 February 2011 at Delhi.

The award was presented by Mr Praful Patel, Union Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, and Government of India to Mr TS Vijayan, Chairman LIC. Also present during the ceremony were Mr Rajiv Vastupal, President, AIMA & Chairman & Managing Director, Rajiv Petrochemicals Ltd.; Mr Gautam Thapar, Then President, AIMA & Chairman & CEO, The Avantha Group; Mr SK Swamy, Conference Chairman & CMD, RK Swamy BBDO Pvt Ltd and Mr Ramesh Jude Thomas, President and CKO - Equitor Consulting.
