Conference on
Leadership Strategies for Building Excellence
02 September, 2011: New Delhi
Today, in a world that is hard to keep pace with, many organizations are focused on short-term measures, such as cost cutting and targets. The competitive pressures of globalization, new market penetration, volatile customer expectation, increasing employee expectations, economic uncertainties and many other challenges abound, this may be the perfect time to talk about leadership and strategies to Build Excellence in organisations.
The leadership is of immense importance in today’s dynamic economy when status quo is less of an option and decisions have to be made. Leaders must necessarily develop strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the team in order to achieve success and build excellence. Leaders do not command excellence, they build excellence. The task at hand is to lead from front and to best drive strategies to Build Excellence Through Leadership.
The traits of good leaders are common for both corporate world and the Armed forces. Under terrible conditions, good leaders in battle enable ordinary people to routinely accomplish the extraordinary tasks. In battle situations, people cannot be managed. They must be led to reach very difficult goals and complete very arduous tasks. Business Is Not War, But Leadership Is Leadership. The concepts of military leadership are so powerful that the leaders from all organizations could use these principles to dramatically increase productivity, profitability and the likelihood of success in any project in which they are engaged.
Recognising these imperatives, All India Management Association (AIMA) in association with The Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) - an autonomous think tank on strategic studies and land warfare in the Indian context, is organising the Conference on “Leadership Strategies for Building Excellence” on 02 September, 2011 at New Delhi.
