AIMA is an apex body of professional management in India. Functioning as a thought pool for management and a forum to develop a national managerial ethos, AIMA facilitates the growth of the management profession in the country.

In all of AIMA’s history spanning more than 5 decades, it has been promoting excellence in the discipline of management in varied fields which reflect the state of advanced development in an economy.  Now, with an aim to recognise excellence in management in diverse fields and to bring all these vibrant disciplines which contributed to the making of the emerging super-power-India under one umbrella, AIMA has established The Managing India Awards.

The Managing India Awards 2010 looks to honour eminent personalities whose journey in their endeavours were unmatched and pay tribute to the efforts of these builders of a vibrant Brand India who have set benchmarks of excellence in their respective spheres. This is a platform that will recognize the contributions of these stalwarts from different fields, all outstanding performers in their own right, who epitomize strength, ingenuity, knowledge, foresight, who excelled in their respective spheres with vision and inspiration and are worthy of emulation and admiration.

The Jury for the Award chaired by Mr Sanjiv Goenka, President AIMA and Vice Chairman, RPG Enterprises, comprised of Mr R S Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, ONGC Limited; Mr Rajive Kaul, Chairman Nicco Corp; Mr Kewal Handa, Managing Director, Pfizer India; Mr Roopen Roy, Managing Director, Deloitte & Touche Consulting India; and Mr Govindraj Ethiraj, Editor-in-Chief, Bloomberg UTV.

The neutral jury has decided upon the award winners under different Award categories.  The winners include: Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla; Mr Rahul Bajaj; Mr N R Narayana Murthy; Mr Deepak Parekh; Mr Gautam Gambhir; Ms Katrina Kaif; Mr Ranbir Kapoor; Mr Rajkumar Hirani; Mr Vir Sanghvi; Mr R P Goenka; Mr Chetan Maini; Mr Aroon Purie and Mr Nandan Nilekani.

The winners will be conferred with the AIMA Managing India Awards trophy at a function to be held on Wednesday, 7 April, 2010 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Durbar Hall, Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.  The Awards Evening would include a performance by Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan, the award distribution ceremony which would be followed by cocktails and dinner.  The Awards Evening would be attended by an invitation only audience.
